Eastern Mennonite School will hold an event to celebrate and dedicate its new elementary building on Jan. 28, 4 to 6 p.m. All are invited to celebrate the renovation of the former MennoMedia building into an innovative learning space.

A ribbon cutting will take place outside the building with comments and prayer of dedication at 4 p.m. The building will then be open for self guided tours with staff on hand to answer questions. Refreshments will be served.

“We are thrilled to be at this place in our journey on becoming one K-12 campus with two buildings,” says Paul Leaman, head of school. “We look forward to hosting our community in seeing what we’ve accomplished together, and dedicating this space for our vision of a school where every student thrives and belongs.”

A long journey
The permanent home for K-5 follows a journey that included 12 years away from the main campus, including time at Lindale Mennonite Church, and at a site on the property of Camp Horizons on Route 11 North. During the 2018-19 academic year and first half of 2019-20, K-5 students were located in the Upper Building of EMS campus at 801 Parkway Drive.
