They began by creating a base layer of large patches of color, then added smaller shapes and lines. Finally, they used paint pens to add the last layer of details. The artists were thoughtful in selecting colors that would stand out next to each other, and\u00a0 they enjoyed noticing who was adding a new layer to their work. As the final step in their creative process, the class brainstormed title ideas for their piece then voted for their favorite.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.easternmennonite.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/1st-horizontal-2025-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"1st-horizontal-2025\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"225\" width=\"300\" title=\"1.\u00ba horizontal 2025\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n\t<p><b>1ER GRADO: La Plaza Rainbox del Para\u00edso<\/b><\/p>\nSize: 26&#8243; x 20&#8243;<br \/>\nMedio: papel sulfito, collage\n<p>Description: After each 1st grade artist chose two colors for their collage piece, they cut a geometric or organic shape along the side of the smaller piece.. The most exciting part of the process was flipping the cut out piece over to create a mirror image. The cut pieces were glued onto the background paper, and then all of the individual collage pieces were assembled into one composition. As the final step in their creative process, the class brainstormed title ideas for their piece then voted for their favorite.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.easternmennonite.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/2nd-horizontal-2025-300x227.jpg\" alt=\"2nd-horizontal-2025\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"227\" width=\"300\" title=\"2.\u00ba horizontal 2025\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n\t<p><b>2DO GRADO: Explorador del oc\u00e9ano<\/b><\/p>\nTama\u00f1o: 24\u2033 x 18\u2033<br \/>\nMedio: papel sulfito, collage\n<p>Description: After voting for a theme and then studying a variety of underwater scenes, 2nd grade artists each created several things you might see in the ocean water. After a small group painted the wooden panel shades of blue, each artist attached their collage pieces onto the background. As the final step in their creative process, the class brainstormed title ideas for their piece then voted for their favorite.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.easternmennonite.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/3rd-horizontal-2025-300x223.jpg\" alt=\"3rd-horizontal-2025\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"223\" width=\"300\" title=\"3.\u00ba horizontal 2025\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n\t<p><b>3ER GRADO: El patr\u00f3n del oc\u00e9ano<\/b><\/p>\nTama\u00f1o: 24\u2033 x 18\u2033<br \/>\nMedio: papel, pintura acr\u00edlica.\n<p>Description: 3rd grade artists each painted five squares of paper a solid background color, then used a variety of tools such as spools, wooden blocks, and lids to create patterns and implied textures. The large squares were cut into a series of smaller squares and rectangles. The artists adhered their individual pieces onto a cradled wooden panel, intermingled with those of their classmates, arranging them into a quilt pattern. As the final step in their creative process, the class brainstormed title ideas for their piece then voted for their favorite.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.easternmennonite.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/4th-vertical-2025-223x300.jpg\" alt=\"4th-vertical-2025\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"300\" width=\"223\" title=\"4.\u00aa vertical 2025\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n\t<p><b>4.\u00ba GRADO: Felices para siempre<\/b><\/p>\nTama\u00f1o: 18\u2033 x 24\u2033<br \/>\nMedio: pintura acr\u00edlica, rotuladores de pintura.\n<p>Descripci\u00f3n: Los artistas de 4.\u00ba grado trabajaron en grupos peque\u00f1os para crear un paisaje abstracto. Tras crear \u00e1reas de tierra, agua y cielo, usaron diversas herramientas, como carretes y tapas, para a\u00f1adir textura a cada \u00e1rea. Se usaron rotuladores para a\u00f1adir textura y detalles como plantas y casas. Each artist created two individual blocks by painting the background with acrylic paint and then adding designs with paint pens. The artists then paired up with a classmate and painted a third block as a team.
