Then it was said among the nations, \u2018The Lord has done great things for them.'\u201d Psalm 126:2<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the love of the game\u201d was the theme of the elementary school\u2019s spring music program. <\/p>\n<p>Under the direction of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.easternmennonite.org\/facultystaff\/joy-anderson\/\">Joy Gibson Anderson<\/a>, our students shared traditional American and international songs and singing games, often with audience participation, dancing and instrument accompaniment. <\/p>\n<p>The program opened with a song and demonstration by the first grade strings group, under the direction of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.easternmennonite.org\/facultystaff\/maria-lorcas\/\">Mar\u00eda Lorcas<\/a>, instructor.<\/p>\n<p>Kindergarten through second grade shared \u201cPimpon\u201d a Latin American finger play. Grade two invited the audience to join them on O Mochi O, a Japanese hand game. Fifth graders demonstrated the North Skelton Sword Dance, a Scottish folk dance that EMES fifth graders traditionally learn.<\/p>\n<p>Second through fifth graders sang, while fourth grade performed, a familiar song by Clark Gesner from \u201cYou\u2019re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.\u201d <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cThen our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy!
