Bachelors degree in finance with minors in French and accounting from the University of Tampa. MBA in finance from Northeastern University.

I was born and raised in Bulgaria, I am, however, Turkish. I came to the United States as an exchange student in high school. My interests include sewing and quilting, I have a small Etsy shop that keeps me busy and feeds my desire to sew, which I find very meditative. I am also a registered yoga teacher and have been one for the past 7 years. I enjoy yoga, exercising, walking with my family, pool time in the summer, dining out at fun places, exploring wineries in the area, among many other things. I love reading books, cooking and getting together with friends.

My husband, Tim, teaches marketing at James Madison University. We moved to Virginia in the summer of 2019 from Florida, which was an interesting adjustment right as COVID started and we were trying to meet new people in the area! We have three children. Our son Izzet (goes by Izzy), who attends EMS, and twins Mert (pronounced Matt) and Lara. We travel a lot as a family. We love exploring new places and have taken our children on many exciting adventures.

Community involvement

I am a member of the Harrisonburg Women's Service League, which is a volunteer organization supporting women and children in the Shenandoah Valley.

My dream for EMS

I am excited to join EMS as an International Student Officer. I hope to be able to help the international students feel more at home here in the Valley and I look forward to getting to know them, I am certain we will have lots of fun activities together!
