Her touch is on many universities across the Commonwealth and beyond, including the 2005 EMHS Fine Arts addition.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Lori submitted a proposal for a national contest to revise Richmond\u2019s Monument Avenue. Skilled with his hands and in relating to people of all backgrounds, Richard \u2013 often joined by his wife Jolene \u2013 has used his gifts in the local community and around the world, often in the areas of construction in camp and education settings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRich always puts others before himself,\u201d says Diana Suter \u201970 Berkshire, who nominated him for the award. \u201cHe is generous with his time and resources and is always kind. He loves God and serves others because of this. Her touch has spawned multiple businesses and helped launch the local food movement in Harrisonburg.<\/p>\n<p>Her newest project is a revitalization of the former Big\u00a0L Tire flatiron building, called Magpie. The lower level will house a breakfast and lunch \u201cmodern interpretation of the corner diner\u201d along with an in-house bakery making artisanal bread, pastries and pies.
