{"id":520,"date":"2020-09-30T21:01:43","date_gmt":"2020-10-01T01:01:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/easternmennonite.org\/today\/?post_type=article&#038;p=520"},"modified":"2020-09-30T21:01:43","modified_gmt":"2020-10-01T01:01:43","slug":"racial-equity-group-update","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.easternmennonite.org\/today\/article\/racial-equity-group-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Racial Equity Group Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new group made up of any interested faculty and staff met weekly this summer to begin the long-term work of looking at all aspects of school life through a racial equity lens.<\/p>\n<p>Participants reported on what they were learning about anti-racism and drafted proposed additions to the school\u2019s strategic plan for review by the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p>All departments are challenged to review curriculum through a racial equity lens, and each employee will include a professional development goal this year related to the topic.<\/p>\n<p>Julianne Ross continues to add library resources of diverse voices. Student leaders launched an Anti-racism Student Association.
