Record-breaking Season for Track and Field
It was a record-breaking year for Track and Field this spring.
State competition
The team was the state runner up in Division II of the Virginia Independent Athletic Association
EMHS top three finishers at that event were:
Chad Vrolijk ’19 finished first in the 110m hurdles, first in 300m hurdles and third for high jump.
Gabe Albers ’21 finished second in the 110m hurdles.
Grant Leichty ’19 finished first in discus with a school record throw of 141′ 10″
The team placed second in the 4X400 relay. Runners were Cyrus Ramsey ’19, Chad Vrolijk ’19, Zach Bauman ’19 and Gabe Alberts ’21.
The team is coached by Chafin Vrolijk and Katie Cimini who were named Coaches of the Year by the Virginia Independent Conference.
