DISCOVERY25 full set-1

The Discovery Trips have become a hallmark of the EMS educational experience, providing students with an extraordinary opportunity for growth and learning. Held during the summer of odd-numbered years, this new version in 2025, a 10-day journey was designed to immerse students in the rich natural and cultural landscapes of the northeastern United States.

On this year’s itinerary, students had the chance to explore some of the region’s most iconic sites, including the serene Finger Lakes and the majestic Adirondacks in upstate New York. The journey continued through Vermont, with a stop at the beautiful Lake Champlain, before heading to the rugged coastlines of Maine’s Acadia National Park, and finally, picturesque Cape Cod.

While on the trip, students camped under the stars, and experienced a unique environment for learning and camaraderie. This immersive experience not only strengthens the bonds between students, teachers, and staff chaperones, but also aligns with EMS’s mission to engage in deep experiential learning.

Through these adventures, students gain invaluable insights and life skills, ensuring that the memories and lessons from Discovery Northeast will resonate long after the trip has ended. In essence, it is an experience that transforms everyone involved, leaving them with a newfound perspective and a stronger connection to the natural world around them.
