Commencement Weekend 2019
Eastern Mennonite High School’s 102nd Commencement Weekend will be held May 31-June 2, 2019. Celebrate with us!
Friday, May 31
9:30 a.m. — Senior graduation rehearsal, Eastern Mennonite University, Lehman Auditorium. Ends at approximately noon.
7 p.m. — Commencement concert, EMS auditorium. All are welcome. No charge. The program will include selections by:
– Jazz ensemble
– Wind Ensemble
– String orchestra
– Junior Choir
– Chamber Choir
– Touring Choir
Saturday, June 1
7 p.m. — Baccalaureate, EMS auditorium.
All are welcome to this worship service. The service will including singing, an invocation by Kendal and Jennifer North Bauman (parents of Zach), remarks by seniors Sukainah Abid-Kons and Eric Haskell, Touring Choir selections, reflections by seniors Zach Bauman and Kerinna Good, a message by Kevin and Sandy Byler (parents of Jesse), the class song, and a blessing by Phil and Wanda Harder (parents of Grace).
After the service, seniors, together with parents and grandparents, are invited to a reception hosted by the school faculty and staff, in the dining hall.
Sunday, June 2
2:30 p.m. — Commencement, Eastern Mennonite University, Lehman Auditorium. See campus map for parking and directions.
Commencement speaker is Maria Archer, K-8 principal. Several members of this year’s graduating class were in the kindergarten class the first year that EMES opened and Maria Archer was principal.
