EMS Welcomes New Admissions Counselor

Eastern Mennonite School is pleased to announce the appointment of Travis Nyce ’08 as our new Admissions Counselor. Nyce continued up the hill to EMU 2008 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education. He brings with him a wealth of experience in admissions and a passion for welcoming and inclusive community.

Nyce is deeply invested in both his family and his community. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and has a keen interest in sports, whether playing, watching, or coaching. He can also be found reading and bicycling. Nyce is also an active member of the Community Mennonite Church, further grounding him in the anabaptist values.

Among his inspirations are his friends, family, and the community that surrounds him. Nyce’s favorite Bible verse, Joshua 1:9, reflects his approach to life and work:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Nyce is enthusiastic about his role and has a vision for EMS to remain a hub of academic excellence, complemented by thriving athletic and extracurricular programs. He aims to ensure that the school is a place where everyone feels welcome, safe, and cared for, regardless of their background.
