Commencement + Celebrating Seniors
Celebrating the Class of 2026
Eastern Mennonite School Commencement
Saturday, May 30
3PM
Lehman Audiorium, Eastern Mennonite University
As the Class of 2026 at Eastern Mennonite School (EMS) prepares to embark on new adventures, the school has organized a series of events to honor their achievements and bid them a fond farewell.
Honoring Tradition with Senior Chapels
Shannon Roth and Jodi Hertzler have planned two final chapels to recognize the graduating class. During the senior chapel, each student will have the opportunity to walk across the stage and share their future plans, reminisce about cherished memories at EMS, and offer valuable advice to younger students. This much-anticipated event allows classmates, teachers, and families to share in the excitement of the seniors’ future endeavors. In the final chapel of the year, a teacher chosen by the class will deliver a message and blessing.
Reflecting on the Past
Students are busy preparing their final presentations as part of their Kingdom Living classes with Ben Bixler and Karen Suderman. These presentations, reflecting on significant life events and time spent at EMS, will be held throughout May in the Dining Hall. For those interested in attending, the schedule is available on the school’s webpage calendar.
Commencement Concert
The music departments are tuning up for a Commencement concert, providing seniors and other students a last chance to express themselves through music. Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 22 at 6:30 PM in the EMHS auditorium for an evening of musical celebration.
Commencement Ceremony
Commencement will take place on Saturday, May 30 at 3:00PM at Eastern Mennonite University’s Lehman Auditorium. This celebration of the Class of 2026’s achievements will feature a commencement address by Ann Graber Hershberger, Executive Director of Mennonite Central Committee US. Her words are sure to inspire as the graduates prepare to step into the next chapter of their lives.
A Lasting Legacy
The Class of 2026 will leave a gift for future generations. This generous contribution will serve as a lasting reminder of their time at EMS.
We celebrate our seniors and their final moments as students of EMS, eagerly anticipating the remarkable futures that await them.
