Prospective students grades 6-12 and their parents are invited to a virtual open house and student visitation event on Wednesday, May 13, from 2 to 3 p.m. “at” Eastern Mennonite School.

Using Zoom virtual meeting space, participants will have opening time together and then separate into two Zoom “rooms.”

Prospective students will virtually “gather” with current student representatives for a facilitated discussion. Prospective students will be welcome to join with both video and audio, or just by audio to listen if they prefer. Current students join the room and share comments about their activities and interests when school is happening on site, and what it has been like during closure. Debbie Katz, high school counselor, will facilitate the discussion.

Parents will virtually “gather” in a separate Zoom room where they will hear from Justin King, high school principal; Maria Archer, K-8 principal; Mike Stoltzfus, director of business affairs; and Patsy Seitz, academic director. There will be time for Q&A. Marsha Thomas, admissions counselor, will host the event.

Prospective parents and students who would like a virtual tour of the building are encouraged to view this video for scenes from within the school. If you would like to have a Facetime tour of the school even while shut down, Marsha Thomas will do that with you.

Contact Marsha Thomas with questions. Register online for the virtual open house. Email admissions@easternmennonite.org or call 540-236-6021. To schedule a Facetime virtual walk through the school, use the online scheduler on this page.
